Danny Jenson waxed his first floor in 1979. Since then, Specialty Hardwood has laid over a million square feet of flooring in the DFW area and beyond. We still wax & buff hardwood floors, but the company has grown to be a reliable choice for homeowners who want to install & finish hardwoods, as well as perform routine maintenance on other hard surfaces. Specialty Hardwood began as a maintenance company, but since then we have grown to install and finish hardwoods and provide routine maintenance on tile, concrete, brick and hardwood. Danny has traveled the world, from Florida to the Grand Cayman Islands, to teach wood installation and concrete staining techniques. Danny is now retired and able to duck hunt, golf and play with his granddaughter as much as he wants.
In 2015, Danny’s daughter, Lydia switched careers to take over the family business. She strives to carry on her dad’s legacy. Like Danny, Lydia shares a passion for helping customers achieve a final product that is unique to their home and lifestyle. Lydia lives in Dallas with her husband, Erik, daughter, Nora, and corgi, Big Tex.
Our business is about as family as it gets.
